Waste / Recycling

In accordance with Pennsylvania State Act 101 and Lower Swatara Township Ordinance No. 358, all residential and commercial establishments in the Township are required to participate in the recycling program.

Republic Services has submitted the low bid for residential trash/recycling collection and will be your new hauler effective January 1, 2022.  Please note that your trash and recycling carts are owned by the Township.  Continue to use them with the new hauler. Republic Services is making a change to collection days.  Properties that were collected on Thursdays will now be picked up on Fridays.  Properties that were picked up on Fridays will now be picked up on Thursdays.  This will begin on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
